Tuscarora Tennis Barn will hold an open house and ribbon cutting on Thursday, September 5 from 4 to 6 pm, showcasing $150,000 in energy efficient improvements to the facility.  “Green” upgrades include replacing halogen lighting with fluorescent lights, which use 2/3 less energy, as well as adding a new layer of insulation in walls and ceilings to significantly reduce heating costs. Additionally, the indoor courts have been re-surfaced and painted the US Tennis Association colors as seen in the US Open.

Aubrey Dixon, President, said, “We are very pleased with the upgrades made this summer and have already received many positive comments from our members. In addition to saving energy, the new lighting system significantly improves the quality of play.”

The public is invited to the open house as well as to enjoy free court time on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 5, 6 and 7, from 4-7 p.m. Please contact the Club at (301) 473-5050 for more information.

The Tuscarora Tennis Club is conveniently located on Renn Road just off of Rt. 180 in Frederick County, Maryland. The club features four cushioned Versa-Turf courts with Blue Nova coating, a practice deck equipped with a ball machine, outdoor courts, a fully stocked tennis pro shop, lounge and locker rooms.

Our tennis programs include indoor season block times, spot time (arranged "on the spot"), weekly adult round robins and men's and woman's flights. Friday night tennis mixers are very popular, and the club may also be reserved for private parties on Saturday nights.

Tuscarora Tennis is a membership club, so most playing opportunities require and annual, summer, or daily membership. Daily memberships are unlimited and count towards an annual membership limited to the previous 12 months of daily membership fees. Note: many lessons and all drills, round robins and our Friday night mixers are available for non-members!
