The new Babolat Pure Aero racquet is a makeover of the AeroPro Drive, offering more momentum, stability and comfort. Players enjoy additional pace and spin on full swings, and solid accuracy at the net. Babolat has made some impressive tweaks to the AeroPro Drive to deliver spin, pop, hit through and comfort. Other racquets in this series include the Pure Aero Lite, ideal for strong beginners, juniors and intermediates, and the Pure Aero Team, a lightning-fast racquet with above average stability, comfort and spin for its light weight.
Tuscarora now has the stunning Asics BZ100 designed for greater spin and ball control. The racquet is designed for controlled power, and has a patent pending Bending Zone designed to optimize the flex of the racquet to achieve an ideal, powerful, controlled groundstroke. Ultimately, this racquet provides flexibility and spin while decreasing shock to the player’s hand and minimizing head distortion creating a larger sweet spot. We recommend demo-ing this new racquet with state-of-the-art features, and have a number for sale in our Pro Shop!
A fun first week of tennis camp for our young beginners.

Tuscarora Tennis Barn will hold an open house and ribbon cutting on Thursday, September 5 from 4 to 6 pm, showcasing $150,000 in energy efficient improvements to the facility. “Green” upgrades include replacing halogen lighting with fluorescent lights, which use 2/3 less energy, as well as adding a new layer of insulation in walls and ceilings to significantly reduce heating costs. Additionally, the indoor courts have been re-surfaced and painted the US Tennis Association colors as seen in the US Open.
Aubrey Dixon, President, said, “We are very pleased with the upgrades made this summer and have already received many positive comments from our members. In addition to saving energy, the new lighting system significantly improves the quality of play.”
The public is invited to the open house as well as to enjoy free court time on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 5, 6 and 7, from 4-7 p.m. Please contact the Club at (301) 473-5050 for more information.
